Haloo blog,
It's been a while since I wrote last post,
Mmm it was like months ago
Haha, actually I don't really know what to write or post,
But I'm on my writing mood right now,
so basically this will be like my opinion from what happen around me
1. Graduated
Yes, yes finally I graduated from Business Management ITB after like 6 month miserable-life-writing-thesis-abroad, and got an A! Yees! Well, tho a lot people also got A haha, but I still proud of it!
Okay, so let me write about my experience writing this "holy stuff" abroad, without having my supervisor around :
- First Phase
I was like decide what topic I'm interested in. I was like reading all journal, and found something that looks cool to write about (yes! I admit it , I do choose based on the how cool it sound when people ask me what topic I write on haha)
- Second Phase
I do my first chapter, introduction, doing some problem limitation, research question, etc . I also did my second chapter, and collect the data (thx God there was this "magnificient things" called Internet)
- Third Phase
hmmm there's something wrong about this topic. Okay, it sounds cool, but I still not learn about it Щ(ºДºщ). And I think after long frustration, I decide to change the topic.
And this was the lowest point of the whole writing process itself I think. Well, it was hard to only communicate with your supervisor by email. And I think my supervisor was very busy at that time so she could only write me back once a week (the best case) and sometimes once in two week or longer.
Yes, so in this phase I was a little bit frustrated, angry (tho I'm not really sure why I angry and who I was angry with).
Then, I try to change the topic, not exactly changed it since I was still in Banking Industry Topic (blame it to the data I already collected) since I still interested on risk in the banking sector.
Well, I could say that I was slightly moving the direction of my thesis.
And I working this all two chapter on 3 days , because I was so worried that I couldn't graduate on time.
- Fourth month
I googled about spss, stuff, and ended up with this genius Gujarati with his Introduction to Econometrics. At the beginning I was like "there's no way I could read this book"
But, after heard advice from my friend and having no choice, expert , or other literature, then I read this Gujarati things.
I admit it was hard at the beginning, but after you find the right chapter for your research, it started being an interesting book to read! (I can't believe I said this).
But yeah, basically Gujarati was the "holy book of methodology" for my thesis
And voila, I finished my third chapter, and we're moving to the practical one, the fourth chapter
- Fourth phase
I searched for more data, like for one week I always open bank's financial statement and looking which banks had total asset above 10 trillion, and after find the right bank, then go back find its consolidated financial statement.
Then I download this free SPSS program, and started to try it and then... WTH IS WRONG WITH MY DATA Щ(ºДºщ)
I started to panic (AGAIN) , frustrated (AGAIN).
But, thx a lot to om anto and his friend who guide and teach me in this process, sorry I asked a lot!!
So I download this software called Eviews, and started doing the analysis! The result is basically fine ( I do multiple regression ) , but the hardest part is to do the classical normal assumption test. I actually still cannot believe I finish this phase. And I got the analysis! YES
- Five Phase
Okay, I finished my analysis, but well let me take a break , so basically this is the LAZY PHASE
- Six Phase
I started to write the analysis chapter and finished it! Haha, I spent like 3-4 days to work on it. And again lazy phase came again
- Seven Phase
I wrote conclusion, recommendation, stuff and working on appendix. Editing the thesis itself took quite a time, like 4-5 days . And finished my thesis, FINALLY
long story short, I did my defense presentation on 7th of August and finally made it!
2. What to do after graduate!
Yes, I think all of the fresh graduated like me were sick of these kind of questions
A: wow, you finally graduated! What you want to do next?
B: mmm, well mmm
A: Do you already apply for a job? Or you want to continue on your master degree
B: mmmm, well let me think about that first ok haha
A: Or you want to get married hhaa!
B: Hahaha, yeah married -_-" (I'm only 18 -_- and talk about marriage)
Ok, to be honest, I'm not really know what to do next. Yes, I want to take my master degree to LSE ( which required this crazily high GMAT , IELTS, and bunch high qualified people who also applied to this school, oh god my chance :'' ), but working also quite appealing to me, moreover after attending this dinner session with BCG (yes! Free food in five star hotel! Yes I'm a proud cheapskate! ) and found more about consulting job!
OH GOD WHAT SHOULD I DO??
But again, let the destiny take me ! (Yes gue PASRAH haha!!)
